Street Color
The Dada movement originally consisted of artists who rejected the logic, reason, and aestheticism of modern society and instead expressed nonsense, irrationality, and social protest in their works. It’s the best arena to place my practice of collecting mundane, everyday objects with the intent to create a new understanding through the arrangement of multiples.
STREET COLOR spun off of the Penny Project when the sidewalk, curb, and crosswalk color photographs conflicted with the project design. Hesitant to throw away the prints, I began to piece the quilt together.
